Covered Bridges Scenic Bikeway

Enjoy a 36 mile ride on the scenic Covered Bridges Scenic Bikeway.  Experience the Row River Trail that goes on the north side of Dorena Lake and be sure to stop and ride through the Dorena Covered Bridge at the far end of the lake.  Be sure to visit the Chambers Railroad Covered Bridge on the in-town loop of the Bikeway.  For the map and clue sheet, click here.   For a preview of the ride, click here.  For a video of portions of the Bikeway, click here.

Around Cottage Grove Lake and Dorena Lake

Start your 67 mile ride  meandering through  historic downtown Cottage Grove, cross over the only Railroad Covered Bridge west of the Mississipi, bike past Cottage Grove and Dorena Lakes and 4 more covered bridges.  For the map and clue sheet, click here.  For a preview of the ride, click here.  For a video of portions of the ride, click here.

Row River Trail and Wildwood Falls

Start your 42.4 mile ride at Bohemia Park in Cottage Grove and ride the Row River Trail - a 16 mile paved converted Rails-to-Trails path.  See the Mosby Creek Covered Bridge at the Mosby Creek Trailhead which is 3 miles from the start.  Continue on on the north side of Dorena Lake.  At the end of the Trail, continue on Row River Road on a loop taking you past Wildwood Falls returning to the end of the Trail.  From there you can continue on Row River Road and ride through the Dorena Covered Bridge.  From there continue on Shoreview Drive and watch for the lake through the trees.  When you get to Garoutte Road, you can take a left and go over Garoutte Rd so you can see the Stewart Covered Bridge.  The bridge is closed to pedestrians, cyclists and motorists.  You also have the option of not going over Garoutte Road.  It is narrow and curvy with a grade varying from 5 - 7% for about 3/4 mile.  If you continue straight on Shoreveiw Drive, you will come back to the Row River Trail at the tunnel and can proceed back to town on the Trail.  The difference is mileage between the two options is less than .2 miles.  Once back on the Trail, proceed back to Bohemia Park. For the map and cue sheet, click here.  For a preview of the the ride, click here.   For a video of portions of the ride, click here.

Cottage Grove and Creswell Loop

This 42.5 mile route begins at Bohemia Park at 10th and Main St in Cottage Grove.  It goes west to Lorane and then north to Hamm Rd.  It continues into Creswell and then loops back to Cottage Grove via Sears Rd.  Food, water and restrooms are available at the Lorane Store and Creswell, as well as in Cottage Grove.  There are two climbs.  One is prior to Lorane about 5 miles from the beginning.  It is about 500 feet over 2.5 miles.  The second one is on Hamm Rd about 19 miles from the beginning.  It is about 365 feet over 2.1 miles.  A recommended optional activity is to take a short detour to see and ride through the Chambers Covered Railroad Bridge in Cottage Grove.  After riding through historic downtown Cottage Grove, take a left on River Road and go .6 mile to reach the bridge.  For the map and cue sheet, click here.  For a preview of the ride, click here.  For a video of portions of the ride, click here.

Around Cottage Grove Lake via London, Reservoir Rd & Weyerhaeuser Rd

This 35.7 mile route begins at Bohemia Park at 10th and Main St in Cottage Grove.  Go through the restored Chambers Railroad Covered Bridge on the way out to the lake.  Stop and read about the local history on 4 story boards at the bridge.  Enjoy a trip out one side of Cottage Grove Lake and return on the other side on Weyerhaeuser Rd after going out to the end of London Road.  For the map and cue sheet, click here For a preview of the ride, click hereFor a video of portions of the ride, click here.

Row River Trail out and back
